My Top 100 Wrestlers Ever List

I kept saying I'd never do this but the urge just hit me one night & I've been refining the list ever since. I've always said it's hard enough to come up with a top 10 list, let alone top 100. Even if you can make it past 10 - how do then go about ordering the ones below? Is there really a huge differene between 43 & 44? 76 & 77? Not really. You just sit there agonizing when in reality the exact # doesn't make a difference as much as who they are grouped in with IMO. Like if you're in 15-30, that's a level I see you at in your career more than those from 30-45. So it was easier to construct the entire list going with that mentality.

I went with the GWE Top 100 mindset where you have to show your work aka judge people based on available footage instead of just tales as old as time. For example if someone asked me whether Blackman or El Matematico should be on a Top 100 list, I'd say yes. If you asked me to then show you matches to convince you, I'd be SOL. If one day some miracle footage pops up, no doubt they will instantly skyrocket to near the top of this list. Until then it's just worth noting they are guys who many said were pioneers & amongst the best ever.

My personal preference leans more towards longevity so there aren't as many current names on a list like this or current names in high positions because time will still tell. If you asked me a few years ago about someone like Fenix, he'd be in my Top 10. The last couple years have not helped his case & there's no sign of the downward fall stopping as is the case with Penta. I value a lengthy career of great work way more than just a few years of hot matches, even if those matches stick with me forever. Whereas guys like Bandido/Ospreay don't have the longevity yet but haven't slow down & there are no signs they are going to stop delivering any time soon.

I found it impossible to split the Young Bucks up since all their classics have been together. When you go 20+ years working alongside one person & all your notable matches are as a duo - there's simply no reason to be looked at seperately. There's zero argument for it.

And with that my list is below. I've never put one together at any other time so there's no comparison point & I don't ever see myself updating the list even many years from now. So consider it at most a one-time look into my brain & who I perceive as good wrestlers. Obviously a list of my favorites would look much different, no offense to Misawa or Kobashi who are all-time greats but Mosco De La Merced/X-Fly would make a top 500 before either of you two.
